When in the guard 1. Start inside your opponent’s closed guard with good posture. 2. Stand up by bringing one foot up, then the other, until you’re fully standing. 3. Keep your elbows in and maintain a strong base. 4. Grip both of your opponent’s ankles. 5. Push both ankles hard to one side. 6. As their legs swing away, immediately run around them before they can recover. 7. Drop your chest onto their upper body and establish side control. 8. Apply shoulder pressure and settle your weight before attacking. Memory Cue Posture → Stand → Grab both ankles → Throw the legs to one side → Run around → Side control.
